About Emergency Planning

Click to view the agreed definition of a Major Incident as set down in the Association of Chief Police Officers Emergency Procedures Manual and in the Fire Service Major Incident Emergency Procedures Manual.

We plan for emergencies for a number of reasons:

  • To ensure the public are cared for in time of unexpected need
  • To discharge our statutory duties
  • To save time by being prepared for known and unknown hazards
